Funding transformational change

The Ronald S. Roadburg Foundation is a private charitable foundation, established in 2021 through the estate of the late Vancouver businessman Ronald Roadburg.

The Foundation is rooted in a strong sense of community and responsibility, engaging in an array of philanthropic initiatives in the Jewish and broader communities in British Columbia, across Canada, in Israel, and around the world. Currently, the Foundation’s areas of impact include strengthening and securing the Jewish community; empowering populations adversely or disproportionately affected by circumstance or social inequities; and responding to complex social challenges, currently focusing on addictions and the climate emergency.

Our process

The Foundation works to find philanthropic opportunities in accordance with its vision, values, and priorities, and through the research efforts of its leadership and staff. It does not accept unsolicited proposals.

Our founder

Ronald Samuel Roadburg was a Vancouver businessman who took over a substantial real estate business started by his father. He maintained and built the business, looking to own properties in locations of which he could be proud. In his personal life, Ronald was a very stylish dresser, enjoyed cars and boats, and loved to share fun and adventure with others. He was generous with his friends and cared deeply for animals, often supporting their welfare.  Bravely, Ronald overcame a long-time drug addiction ten years before his passing in May 2021.

In his last years Ronald, together with board chair, Bernard Pinsky, established philanthropic goals for his estate, a vision which resulted in the creation of the Ronald S. Roadburg Foundation. He wanted his estate to help fund tikkun olam, the Hebrew phrase for “repairing the world.”

The Foundation is dedicated to making Ronald’s memory a blessing through transformational change.
